SGA Elections Today!

It’s that time of year again! As you walk across the quad or in the caf, you may see campaign banners hanging throughout the trees, stickers being passed out, or sidewalk chalk expressing a message. For the next few weeks, MC’s campus will be covered in campaign news for the next big elections. First is the SGA Exective Council elections. These will be followed by Class Officer and Senate elections the following weeks. This is a fun time of year that everyone can be a part of whether they are running for a position, helping a friend campaign, or simply placing a vote on election day. The process of the elections brings competition to the student body and new, qualified leaders to serve our school the next year.

There are many ways to campaign in an election here at MC. Some are more popular than others, but one of the easiest ways to get a message across to a lot of people is the use of social media such as facebook and twitter. With the update of a status or tweets, post of a photo or video, or creation of a group or event,  facebook friends and twitter followers can be informed about the election and encouraged to vote. Other ways to campaign include making posters, banners, flyers, or stickers and hanging them up around campus or passing them out to friends. These are visible and are noticed by all students when they walk into the caf, their dorm, or across the quad. Here are some of this year’s campaign designs…

Now that you have seen all the campaign posters and banners, you are ready to vote! So don’t forget: Tuesday, March 27th from 7am-7pm all MC students can place their vote in the caf. Be sure to give your input to help elect next years campus leaders!
