Hello everyone! It has been far too long since I have written a music post, but never fear this one will be worth your while. I spent the last three summers working at Lake Forest Ranch (which is a fantastic camp located right outside of Macon, MS) and every summer I get introduced to all sorts of new music t. 2012 happened to be the summer of Josh Garrels.
Garrels is the man. The biography on his website says it best “Garrels’ songs wrestle with and celebrate the mystery of faith with authenticity and heart.” The songs are rockin, his voice is awesome, and the instrumental work is phenomenal. He blends folk music with deep spiritual thoughts and musings. If you like bands like Gungor, Jenny & Tyler, or John Mark McMillan, then you HAVE to check out Garrels! The song bellow is called “Word Remains,” and the first words of the song capture Garrel’s heart behind the Music. The idea coming from 1 Peter 1:25 is that “Heaven and the earth will pass away but your words all remain”.
I hope that you enjoy Garrels as much as I have. Have a great fall everyone, and I hope this post finds you on a great day.
Sincerely, Senior Music Lover, Kenneth Gray
