What NOT to do: part two

Hello again! As the spring semester sets in, it’s just as important to know what NOT to do as it is to know what to do. My second tip for anyone coming to Mississippi College (or any university, for that matter) is to not get over-involved right away. My dad always told me it is better to do one thing really well than a bunch of things poorly. Your first semester should be all about adjusting to your new life at MC and getting into a good routine!

Don’t get me wrong: Get involved at MC! Just know your limits. Sometimes people get a little too enthusiastic and end up pushing themselves too far. Make sure you save time every week for studying, cleaning, and friends!

Some GREAT opportunities to get involved:

Interest Organizations
-Service Clubs & Social Tribes
-Student Government Association
-MC Scouts
-Association of Student Leaders
-Campus Activities Board
-Speech and Debate Team

There’s a lot more to choose from, but bottom-line advice would be to pick any two of these great organizations just to make sure you don’t overwhelm yourself. If you have a job, be even more careful!
