Here it goes!

1. Start Early~

Rather than begin studying for that test or writing that paper the night before it’s due, start early enough so you have plenty of time to finish and finish well, without killing yourself in the process. If you have had these intentions before and failed to carry them out, why don’t you give it a try this go round. You will be surprised at how much this helps.

2. Stay Healthy~

All nighters are a no-no for finals week; your brain needs to be on its A-game when you go into your test. Sleeping for 6-8 hours the night before will help your mind more than studying all night.

Exercise is a great study break. Go for a run or walk, especially outside if it’s a pretty day.

The morning of your test, make sure to eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of water beforehand. And a cup of coffee never hurt anybody.

3. Take Breaks~

While studying, it’s okay to pace yourself and take breaks every hour or so.

No, Facebook and Instagram don’t count as a study breaks. Usually when you allow yourself 10 minutes on social media, those few minutes snowball into an hour or more. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these.

Instead, grab a smoothie, go for a run, watch a funny YouTube video, or pet a puppy!

4. Jam~

The power of music to help your brain recall information and help you relax and concentrate is fascinating. Find the music genre that helps you concentrate best and expand your musical horizons with Spotify, Pandora, Noise Trade, or the awesome music blogs on the Choctawk!

5. Reward Yourself~

Studying is hard work. So reward yourself for being awesome! Personally I go for candy, a nap, or a few minutes to read stuff on Blogger. But find out what will motivate you through the hours of studying, and once your done relish in the bliss of your personal reward.

Happy Studying!
