Do you love to fishing or are you interested in taking up a new sport? If so, Mississippi College offers a Bass Fishing Program! MC has a club that anyone can join for $30 a semester, or a 6 member team that’s $250 a semester. Our team competes in the collegiate division of FLW Outdoors and is coached by a professional bass fisherman.
Taught by the pros, fish like a pro!
Practices are held at Providence Hill Farm, located 15 minutes from Clinton. At PHF, there is a 150 acre lake with a sea wall that is stocked with F1 bass weighing up to 12 pounds. Along with practices at PHF throughout the year, the team also travels to regional tournaments. One of our previous bass fishing teams qualified for a televised regional tournament! Members also receive a gear allowance to purchase anything they need.
You don’t need any experience to join the club, just an interest in bass fishing! Whether you join the club or make the team, all participants get to ride in the Ranger Bass boats and dress just like the pro bass fishermen you see on TV. How cool of an experience is that?
If you’d like to apply or find out more information, go here to send an email to Dr. Turcotte (the coordinator of the program) and let him know you’re interested. This is such a cool and unique program to be involved with on campus.
I hope you have a splendid day.
